What is TechPeople and what services do you provide?

TechPeople is a US-based managed IT services company founded in 2012. We provide a comprehensive range of technology services including managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, helpdesk support, backup & recovery, network solutions, and IT consultancy — all under one roof.

Where are your offices located?

TechPeople's headquarters is at 350 Fifth Avenue, Suite 4100, New York, NY 10118. We also have regional offices in Chicago (IL) and New York (NY), and we serve clients nationally with remote and on-site support.

What industries do you serve?

We serve businesses across a wide range of industries including finance, healthcare, legal, technology, manufacturing, retail, real estate, and higher education. Our team has deep vertical expertise in regulated industries such as healthcare (HIPAA) and finance (PCI-DSS).

How large does my business need to be to work with TechPeople?

We work with businesses of all sizes — from 5-person startups to 500-seat enterprises. Our Starter plan starts at $499/month for teams of up to 10 users. Whatever your size, we have a solution that fits your budget and requirements.

Do you replace our internal IT team?

Not necessarily. Many of our clients use TechPeople to augment their existing IT team — handling day-to-day helpdesk and monitoring while their internal staff focus on strategic projects. Others choose to fully outsource their IT function. We'll work with whatever model suits you best.

Managed IT

What does "managed IT" actually mean in practice?

Managed IT means we take proactive responsibility for your technology environment. Instead of waiting for things to break, we monitor your systems 24/7, apply patches, maintain security, and resolve issues — often before you even notice there was a problem. You get a predictable monthly cost and peace of mind.

How fast will you respond when something breaks?

Our average first response time is under 15 minutes for critical issues. Professional and Enterprise plan clients have 24/7 coverage. Starter plan clients have 8×5 helpdesk support with priority escalation paths for emergencies.

Do you support remote workers and multiple office locations?

Yes. TechPeople supports distributed and hybrid workforces across any number of locations. Whether your team works from home, a single office, or multiple sites across the US, our remote management tools and on-site visit capabilities ensure consistent support.

What platforms and technologies do you support?

We support Windows, macOS, and Linux environments; Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud; major firewall and network vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto); and most common business applications. Contact us if you have specific technology requirements.

Security

What cybersecurity services are included with managed IT?

Our Professional and Enterprise plans include endpoint detection & response (EDR), email security, patch management, and firewall management as standard. Enterprise clients also get access to our SOC, vulnerability scanning, and vCISO advisory services.

Can TechPeople help us achieve HIPAA or PCI-DSS compliance?

Yes. We have extensive experience helping healthcare and financial services clients achieve and maintain compliance. Our compliance services include gap assessments, control implementation, policy development, and audit-ready reporting. Available under our Enterprise plan.

What happens if we suffer a cyberattack?

TechPeople's incident response team is available 24/7 to clients on managed service agreements. We follow a structured IR playbook: containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review. Our goal is always to minimize downtime and data loss while preserving forensic evidence.

Do you offer security awareness training for staff?

Yes. We provide phishing simulation campaigns and security awareness training modules for all employees. Human error accounts for over 80% of successful breaches, so staff training is one of the highest-ROI security investments you can make.

Billing

How does billing work?

TechPeople bills monthly in advance. Invoices are generated on the 1st of each month and are payable within 14 days. We accept ACH bank transfer, major credit cards, and checks. Enterprise clients may have custom billing arrangements.

Are there any hidden fees?

No hidden fees, ever. Your monthly invoice will always match what was agreed in your service contract. If out-of-scope work is required — such as major hardware procurement or large project work — we'll provide a separate quote before starting.

Can I cancel my managed IT contract at any time?

Yes. Our standard agreement requires 30 days written notice to cancel. We believe in earning your business every month — not holding you captive with long-term contracts. Most clients stay because they want to, not because they have to.

Do you offer discounts for annual prepayment?

Yes. Clients who choose to prepay annually receive a 10% discount on their managed services fee. Contact our sales team to discuss annual pricing options for your plan.

Onboarding

How long does it take to get started?

Most clients are fully onboarded and supported within 5 business days of signing their service agreement. Our onboarding process is systematic and minimally disruptive — we do the heavy lifting so your team barely notices the transition.

Will there be any downtime during the switchover?

We plan onboarding activities carefully to minimize disruption. For most businesses, the transition to TechPeople involves no planned downtime. Larger infrastructure changes (e.g., firewall replacements) are scheduled outside business hours with your approval.

What information do you need from us to get started?

Our onboarding team will guide you through a structured intake process covering your network topology, existing software licenses, user list, hardware inventory, and any compliance requirements. We handle all the technical discovery — you just need to point us in the right direction.

Do you help with transitioning away from a previous IT provider?

Absolutely. We've managed hundreds of IT provider transitions and we know how to make them smooth. We'll coordinate with your outgoing provider to retrieve documentation, credentials, and access credentials — and we'll flag any gaps we find along the way.

Who will be my main point of contact at TechPeople?

Every client on our Professional and Enterprise plans has a named Account Manager who is your primary relationship contact and escalation point. Starter clients have access to our shared client success team. You'll never feel like a number at TechPeople.
